Summertime flowers were noticeably present in the Maritimes and were a special treat to the sight and smell senses. Many flowers were growing wild in abundance from wild roses to fireweed. People here seem to enjoy and invest in extensive flower gardens around their homes. Maybe due to their English heritage or maybe, due to the climate, flowers need less individual care. When we went to the gardens of London and Paris in 2005, we notice a differing style. French gardens are very manicured and stylized, while the English gardens were more natural. We believe that most of what we saw here followed the English style of planting. We have chosen a few pictures to share our enjoyment of flowers with you.
